Kate Middleton Cracks Joke When Asked If She Would Be Performing Solo At Christmas Concert | The Daily Wire

Kate Middleton cracked a joke about herself when asked if she would be performing a solo at this year’s Christmas concert after she previously showed off her piano skills last holiday season.

During the annual Christmas Carol Concert at Westminster Abbey on Thursday, the Princess of Wales reportedly was overheard telling performer Alfie Boe that her three children wouldn’t “forgive her” if she did show off her singing skills, the Mirror reported.

“On the piano, you can slightly hide away a bit more than you can do singing,” Middleton shared. “Actually, my children probably wouldn’t forgive me — I’m not sure whether they think I’ve got a particularly good singing voice. I’ll have to have some lessons.”

Two of the Prince and Princess of Wales’ three children, Prince George, 9, and Princess Charlotte, 7, attended this year’s Christmas concert, People magazine noted. The royal’s youngest child, 4-year-old Prince Louis, appeared to have stayed home.

Middleton surprised concert attendees last year when she sat down to play the piano to accompany Tom Walker in his performance of “For Those Who Can’t Be Here,” the outlet noted.

“Without doubt, it was a once-in-a-lifetime experience,” Walker shared previously. “I thought she absolutely smashed the performance; it’s not easy to just jump behind a piano with a bunch of musicians you’ve never played with before and record live takes to camera, but she completely nailed it.”

“She’s such a lovely, kind and warm-hearted person and she took the time to thank everyone personally for the opportunity to play together,” he added. “It was a crazy pinch-yourself kind of day for me, to be in such a beautiful venue playing alongside the Duchess with my band and a string quartet. I certainly won’t forget that in a hurry!”

A royal source previously shared with the outlet that it was Middleton who personally came up with the idea for the performance.

“Music was very important to the Duchess during the lockdowns,” the royal sourced at the time. “She also recognizes the powerful way in which music brings people together — especially during difficult times. For these reasons, she was keen to be part of Tom’s performance in this way.”
