There’s now been another disturbing report of violence directed at ICE or the Border Patrol.
According to the Department of Homeland Security, Border Patrol Agents were conducting enforcement operations near 26th Street and Kedzie Avenue on Chicago’s Southwest Side.

DHS said an “unknown male driving a black Jeep fired shots at agents and fled the scene.”
DHS also said other agitators threw a paint can and bricks at Border Patrol’s vehicles.
Fortunately, this time, the Chicago Police responded when they were called for assistance, and they helped to clear the scene.
But the shooter and the vehicle are still on the loose.

This incident is not isolated and reflects a growing and dangerous trend of violence and obstruction. Over the past two months, we’ve seen an increase in assaults and obstruction targeting federal law enforcement during operations. These confrontations highlight the dangers our agents face daily and the escalating aggression toward law enforcement. The violence must end.
We’ve seen other shootings directed at ICE or Border Patrol in the last few months, and it’s more than out of hand at this point.
