WINNING: Rand Paul to Chair Senate Homeland Security Committee – Remain in Mexico on Agenda

We’re not tired of winning yet — not by a long shot.

Now, when the new, GOP-controlled Senate is seated in January, it seems that Senator Rand Paul (R-KY) will be chairing the Homeland Security Committee — and he has some plans in mind.

The X post reads in full:

BREAKING: Senator Rand Paul is going to be the new chairman of the Homeland Security Committee – and intends to IMMEDIATELY begin work on reinstating Remain in Mexico.

“For the health of our republic, Congress must stand up once again for its constitutional role. This committee’s mission of oversight and investigations is critical to Congress reasserting itself.”

This is an IMPORTANT Senate committee – the AP reports that it has “broad jurisdiction over government operations, including the Department of Homeland Security.”

It becomes official in January. LET’S GO.

“Remain in Mexico” should be one of the first things done, but it sure shouldn’t be the last. The current mess at our southern border is unacceptable, and if certain prominent figures in the opposition are still insisting that it’s the federal government’s job to secure the border — it is, in fact — then the new GOP majorities should take that ball and run with it, which appears to be precisely what Rand Paul intends to do.

Granted funding for things like the completion of a wall has to come from the House of Representatives, not the Senate — all spending bills are required to originate in the House. And it is the role of the executive branch to, well, execute — to get the border closed and the unvetted, unscreened hordes deported. And Rand Paul, in his desire to address that matter, has a heck of a great ally in the Executive Branch.

The simple fact is that, for the last four years, the southern border, in particular, has been an utter disaster. Millions — millionshave crossed into the United States illegally, many of them young, unattached, military-aged men. They come, they cross the border, they may get a perfunctory interview, or they may not — and then they are simply let go. And, as I keep saying — because it needs to be said, every day and twice on Sunday — we have very little idea who many of them really are, where they really come from, where they intend to go, and what they intend to do when they get there.

Except, of course, for the perps encountered by Laken Riley and Jocelyn Nungaray. We know what they intended — and what they did. And to anyone who cries out that most illegal immigrants are not criminals, I would ask what is the acceptable level of young women to be raped and murdered by people who should never have been in the country in the first place?

Having Rand Paul overseeing Homeland Security in the Senate is a step towards fixing all this.

Nope. Not tired of winning yet. Not even close.
