Biden Wants to Sell Out America to the WHO

Consider this your periodic reminder that the globalists are on the move and they have a friend in the Biden administration. The latest front in this battle is found in a scheme that would significantly expand the power of the World Health Organization and its ability to command, not advise, how countries deal with significant health challenges – including future pandemics – and Joe Biden has signaled that he would likely support such a system. This prompted the entire Senate GOP conference to notify the White House that such a move would be not only inappropriate but likely unconstitutional as well. The effort was led by Senator Ron Johnson of Wisconsin. He pointed out that entering into any binding agreement of this sort with a foreign organization would constitute a treaty, which the executive branch is not allowed to undertake without the approval of two-thirds of the Senate. Sen. Ron Johnson, R-Wis., led the entire Republican Senate conference in calling on President Biden to reject agreements that would expand the authority of the World Health Organization (WHO) in the case of a global pandemic.

“We strongly urge you not to join any pandemic related treaty, convention, or agreement being considered” at the 77th World Health Assembly, reads a letter sent to Biden by Johnson and all 48 other Republican senators.

The Republican senators stressed that any such agreement would be considered a treaty, which they noted requires “the concurrence of two-thirds of the Senate under Article I Section 2 of the Constitution.”

The World Health Assembly kicks off at the end of this month and they always set ambitious goals. I don’t generally have a problem with the existence of the WHO because medical breakthroughs can show up all around the world. Having the opportunity for doctors to share what they have learned can lead to better outcomes for everyone as long as all of their findings can be appropriately researched and verified.

With that said, however, the WHO has absolutely no authority to dictate anything to anyone. They are not a country, nor have they been recognized as having any controlling power over individual nations. They are free to make recommendations and release the results of international medical studies, but they don’t set the rules. Or at least they’re not supposed to. But globalists love the idea of allowing some European coalition similar to the United Nations to issue marching orders for everyone else.

The handling of medical procedures exists far outside of the conventional rules of law and order or governance. At this point, confidence in American medical institutions such as the American Medical Association has been declining, largely thanks to their policies regarding the transgender agenda. They already exert far too much influence over public policy. We certainly don’t need to hand over any sort of control to the WHO.

Ron Johnson is correct in his assessment. How each nation responds to a pandemic is up to them and one set of policies will not be appropriate for every country in the world. For Joe Biden to agree to allow the WHO to set American health care policies would be a treaty by definition. And presidents don’t have the authority to commit the United States to any such agreement on their own. That would require a supermajority of the Senate. This very bad idea needs to be discarded before it gets the chance to build up a head of steam.
