Friday reminder of just how hypocritical Democrats and the media are

For almost 3 years now we have been treated to lectures from our elite class about what a threat to Democracy Donald Trump and the Republicans are.

Actually, it goes back much farther than that, but since Donald Trump’s loss in 2020, the focus has been on Trump’s claims that the 2020 election was stolen and how seriously that violates the norms that make our country stable.

I am not entirely in disagreement with that assessment–constant claims of cheating do hurt democracy, which is why Nixon decided not to challenge the 1960 election despite lots of evidence that it was stolen. Just how serious the damage done is debatable, but clear and unambiguous election results are in principle better than contested elections. And in general, it makes sense to have your ducks in a row–evidence that people will buy–before making claims that are unverifiable.

Reliable means of verifying results would solve the problem and Democrats always get in the way of ensuring that elections are fairly decided, so I mostly blame them for the problem. But that is a different issue.

Democrats have no ground to stand on when making their claims against Trump. They are far worse when it comes to denying election results when they lose. From 2016 to 2020 denying election results was their passion.

Matt Orfalea did a nice mashup of Democrats denying election results and threw in quite a few examples of media pundits enthusiastically backing the most outlandish and since disproven claims of election interference.

Just as with the impeachment complaints today, Democrats haven’t a leg to stand on in this rhetorical battle, and if the MSM had an ounce of integrity (HINT: they have none) they would challenge Democrats on their ridiculous claims. Instead they repeat the talking points.

Democrats and MSM pundits were agitating for impeachment on the very day Trump was inaugurated before he had made a single act as president. They made impeachment their #1 project on January 20, 2017. Literally on that day, minutes after his inauguration.

It is almost a rule that any time a Democrat accuses a Republican of anything they are actually describing their own actions.

That doesn’t mean Republicans are innocent of wrongdoing–they may or may not be. But if a Democrat claims it, they are almost certainly guilty of it. It is the iron law of Democrat projection.

Democrats spent years claiming that Trump sold out the country; they elected a president who demonstrably has. They claim Trump weaponized government; Democrats demonstrably have.

I am not a fan of Trump, but almost every criticism of him has proven to be false. We have lots of evidence that Joe Biden sold out America for a few million dollars, but Democrats and the media keep denying there is a bit of it.

Despite my frustrations with Republicans, and I have many, I get furious when I hear Democrats make dire warnings about “election denial” or “threats to democracy.” To hear an MSM commentator accuse Republicans of conducting a witch hunt makes me want to scream. They spent years claiming that Trump colluded with Russia to steal an election, spent millions to promote the idea, and the entire farce collapsed in front of the world.

Yet many of them still scream “Russia Russia Russia.”

I am looking forward to my vacation that starts in a week just to get away from it.

I need to reduce my blood pressure.
