Hillary Clinton Wades Into the DeSantis 2024 Campaign News, Promptly Tells on Herself

With news that Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis will make his 2024 presidential candidacy official via a formal announcement on Twitter with Elon Musk Wednesday night, his critics – some on the Republican side but mostly on the Democrat side – wasted little time taking to social media to express their horror over the anti-woke GOP governor throwing his hat into the ring.

Among them was Hillary Clinton, who ran for president in 2008 but didn’t make it beyond the Democrat primaries and then again in 2016, when she lost to Donald Trump in the general election.

In other words, she’s a twice-failed candidate for president who supports Joe Biden’s re-election campaign but she’s got thoughts on how Republican voters should judge their candidates or something.

Like her pals at the NAACP, Mrs. Clinton took issue with DeSantis’ ongoing feud with Disney – which thanks to Disney has reached the lawsuit stage, declaring that his “ultra-MAGA Florida isn’t safe for people of color, LGBTQ+ people, or even multi-billion dollar corporations”:

There were multiple problems with Clinton’s claims, however, most notably that minority communities in Florida are actually doing very well under DeSantis’ leadership, as even CNN pointed out in a Monday segment where the issue was debated with NAACP president Derrick Johnson.

Further, during that same interview, it was also noted that DeSantis’ support among the black and Hispanic communities in the 2022 gubernatorial race was pretty danged impressive for a Republican candidate, another inconvenient fact that also didn’t sit well with Johnson.

Beyond that, though, were Clinton’s rather curious comments about Florida supposedly not being “safe” – not for “even multi-billion dollar corporations.” I mean this was Hillary Clinton, Queen of targeting her political enemies with what some have described as lethal precision, going full-blown corporatist like never before, and she heard about it in the responses:

“Won’t somebody think of the multi-billion dollar corporations? 😭” quipped prominent DeSantis alum Christina Pushaw, while the satirical “U.S. Ministry of Truth” Twitter account announced “breaking news” on “Multi-billion dollar corporations to be given a stripe on the PRIDE flag.”

In my opinion, we’re living in a world gone mad when a not so insignificant number of prominent political figures on both the left and the right think woke corporations trying to forcibly dictate public policy while also enjoying special privileges in the process is a good thing as long as they keep bringing in jobs and tax dollars to their states.

As I’ve said before, whoever the eventual GOP presidential nominee is has to be willing and eager to go the distance when it comes to fighting against the worst elements of what the Democratic party and their woke allies have in mind for the future of this country. I mean this is a non-negotiable thing as far as I’m concerned.

It doesn’t matter if the name is Trump, Haley, Christie, or whoever. If they can’t see that we’re in an existential fight for the soul of this country and then unequivocally commit to standing against wokeness, then they are not worthy of leading it.

That so many of them are sounding a lot like the Hillary Clintons and Joe Bidens of this country on the issue of Disney and wokeness is a big “tell,” in my view, but maybe that’ll change during the course of the GOP presidential primary campaign season.

As always, buckle up – and stay tuned.
