If you live in a red state, you better watch out: California Governor Gavin Newsom could be coming to your town as part of his national “Campaign for Democracy” or something.
Well, you might see him moseying around your neck of the woods if you have an effective state legislature and governor passing laws that protect children in the womb and from mutilation, strengthen the education curriculum, take America’s sovereignty seriously, among other excellent initiatives.
If you don’t live in some place like that, then you probably do not need to worry as Newsom is only traveling to states which threaten America as we know it — or how he knows it.
“Let’s be direct: We can’t solve a problem without first identifying it,” Newsom said in a promotional video. “The problem in our country right now is authoritarian leaders who are so hell-bent on gaining power and keeping it by whatever means necessary that they’re directly attacking our freedoms in state after state.”
At this point, one might think Newsom is talking about Soros-backed prosecutors who indict former presidents, governors who kept their states under strict COVID measures for months on end, or even the Big Guy in the White House who effectively labeled 75 million American political enemies of the state last September.
Wrong. He’s talking about folks like Texas Governor Greg Abbott, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, Arkansas Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders, and more Republicans.
“That’s why I’m launching the Campaign for Democracy,” Newsom continued before listing off a litany of supposed signs of creeping fascism.
“We’re going on the road to take the fight to states where freedom is most under attack: Our Republican leaders ban books, criminalize doctors, fire teachers, intimidate librarians, kidnap migrants, target trans kids, stoke racism, condone anti-Semitism, force the victims of rape and incest to carry their attacker’s baby.”
But wait; there’s more!
“Where they ignore the will of the people, they make it harder to vote and easier to buy assault weapons,” he claimed. “They fan the flames of culture wars to distract from the fact that blue states have lower murder rates, better health care outcomes, and higher GDPs.”

Do you ever notice that the Left constantly breaks norms — such as abandoning the idea that men are men and women are women, and nothing in between — and then accuses conservatives of starting the culture war for disagreeing and fighting back?
“What’s happening in those red states, it’s not who we are,” he said solemnly. “It’s unAmerican, it’s undemocratic, and all it takes to fight back is a willingness to stand toe-to-toe and say ‘enough.’”
Now, responding to every claim that Newsom said could take multiple columns. So, let’s just say this: In watching that video, does that sound like a guy creating a new PAC — or somebody who is covertly launching a 2024 presidential campaign as an aging President Joe Biden “keeps” his seat in the Oval office warm for the next Democratic nominee? It might not be a bad bet for the latter, and Newsom is looking to take his fight all the way to the White House.
