Rapper Ye, formerly known as Kanye West, stormed off the set of an interview with Tim Pool, host of the show “Timcast IRL,” on Monday after he was confronted about his anti-Semitic views.
The interview comes as West has repeatedly made news headlines for spouting anti-Semitic remarks which have since upended many of his business pursuits.
“They tried to lock me up. That’s right, because every time, I’m just holding stride, and it’s like, I didn’t, I thought I was more Malcolm X, but I find out I’m more MLK, because as I’m getting hosed down every day by the press, and financially, I’m just standing there,” West claimed. “And when I found out that they tried to put me in jail, it was like a dog was biting my arm. I almost shed a tear, almost. But I still walked in stride through it.”
“I think they’ve been extremely unfair to you,” Pool responded, talking about the media’s treatment of West.
“Who is they though?” West responded. “We can’t say who ‘they’ is, can we?”
“The press,” Pool responded. “I’m not using the, I don’t use the word [‘they’] as the way I guess you use.”
“What do you mean it’s not?” West responded before getting up and walking out of the interview.
“Are you leaving?” Pool asked as West walked by him.
Another man in the room asked West, “Are you afraid of the press?”

POOL: He’s gone. I’ll say it right now, you guys want to bring that stuff up [inaudible/crosstalk]. You think Ye’s going to come in here and say, ‘here’s my pain, here’s my suffering,’ I’m going to say, ‘I hear you.’ And then he’s going to say, ‘it was Jewish people,’ and I’m going to be like, ‘Ok, but don’t you consider–?’
[Highlights West’s reaction]: ‘I’m not going to do this, I refuse!’
