Elon Musk taking over Twitter has brought a lot of fun back to the platform.
One of the most humorous things has been the hilarious and often hypocritical virtue signaling from liberals who now think that Musk is “literally Hitler” for wanting to have free speech on the site. We saw things like CBS fleeing last weekend, out of an “abundance of caution.” But then they came back to much-deserved mocking. Then of course, there were the folks like Never Trumper George Conway, who made a big pronouncement about leaving and then…is still posting on the site. As Elon Musk noted, some just can’t quit him.

The latest virtue signaler is Alyssa Milano, who proudly announced that she “gave back her Tesla” and bought a Volkswagen electric vehicle.
I gave back my Tesla.
I bought the VW ev.
I love it.
I’m not sure how advertisers can buy space on Twitter. Publicly traded company’s products being pushed in alignment with hate and white supremacy doesn’t seem to be a winning business model.

“I’m not sure how advertisers can buy space on Twitter,” Milano said. “Publicly traded company’s [sic] products being pushed in alignment with hate and white supremacy doesn’t seem to be a winning business model.”
Now, there are so many fun things here to point out.
I’m not seeing the “hate and white supremacy” that she’s whining about. She seems to be imagining that in her head. Anything she doesn’t like is “white supremacy.”
She used to virtue signal about buying the Tesla a few years ago.
She’s so fickle… pic.twitter.com/tb4aEhxHRf

“Giving her Tesla back” (whatever that means) wouldn’t do a darn thing to affect Elon Musk. If she means that she traded it in for a Volkswagen, then she still paid the money to Tesla.
But does she even know the origin of Volkswagen? She attacks a guy who wants free speech, so that she can embrace a company that was originally founded by the Nazis? The Volkswagen plant under the Nazis contained four concentration camps and eight forced-labor camps. The company was later taken over by others after the war, but it still has that history. Milano is not the sharpest tool in the drawer. She flees someone who wants free speech at their company, while she buys a vehicle from a company started by real white supremacists.
Many people also pointed out the VW emissions scandal, where they programmed their cars to pass inspection tests, but the same cars puts out more emissions in real-world driving. That didn’t seem to affect her decision either, or perhaps she was as ignorant of that as of the connection to the Nazis.
On top of this, she chastises advertisers. But she does that while on Twitter. She’s still there. If Musk is so evil, why is she still on the site? Why hasn’t she run off to Mastodon–or wherever the liberals are congregating and fighting each other?
The answer is simple, and it’s the same thing for CBS: they need Musk and Twitter far more than he needs them. If Milano left, Musk wouldn’t shed a tear, but she would lose some of her liberal following that helps to prop her up and makes her think she’s important. She doesn’t want to give that up.
Needless to say, Milano got mocked into next week for her ridiculous take.

Among the people who enjoyed the irony of Alyssa’s tantrum was Elon Musk himself.
