Ben Shapiro, Matt Walsh Score Slap Shots On NHL After League’s Trans-Pandering Tweet | The Daily Wire

Daily Wire personalities Ben Shapiro and Matt Walsh teamed up on a power play against the NHL, dragging the for embracing the transgender craze.

Both podcast hosts took aim at the league Tuesday after it tweeted, “Trans women are women. Trans men are men. Nonbinary identity is real.” The pro hockey confederation seems to be the last of the major sports leagues to go woke, despite a fan base that almost certainly disagrees.

“The NHL becomes the latest organization to totally debase itself for the sake of pandering to people who aren’t their customers and never will be,” Walsh tweeted.

The league sent the message out in support of an event dubbed the Team Trans Draft Tournament, which took place over the weekend in Middleton, Wisconsin, and included only trans and non-binary players.

“The NHL is proud to support this past weekend’s Team Trans Draft Tournament in Middleton, Wisconsin,” another NHL tweet read. “This was the first tournament comprised entirely of transgender and nonbinary players, with around 80 folks participating! #HockeyIsForEveryone #NHLPride.”

Shapiro marveled at the league’s desperation to prove its wokeness.

“Amazing to watch sports leagues that rely on extraordinary performance by biological men (as well as the viewership of disproportionately male audiences) parrot the idiotic anti-biological garbage of the woke coterie,” Shapiro wrote.

The NHL drew more mockery and memes on Twitter before turning off replies.

“If trans men are men why aren’t they just playing in a men’s league?” asked @midnightmitch.

“The NHL out here trying to overtake the NFL as the worst run sports league on Planet Earth,” wrote Grabien Media founder Tom Elliott.

Other sports leagues have gone all in on the LGBT trend. A National Review investigation found that at least 20 of Major League Baseball’s 30 teams have promoted or funded groups that advocate or are directly involved in child gender transitions. The NFL, which this year introduced its first transgender cheerleader, Justine Lindsay, of the Carolina Panthers, released an ad last year in support of Carl Nassib, the first active player to come out as gay.

“The NFL family is proud of Carl for courageously sharing his truth today,” said NFL Commissioner Riger Goodell. “Representation matters. We share his hope that someday soon statements like his will no longer be newsworthy as we march toward full equality for the LGBTQ+ community. We wish Carl the best of luck this coming season.”

The NBA famously pulled the 2017 All-Star game out of Charlotte, N.C., after Tar Heel State lawmakers passed a law banning biological males from using women’s public restrooms.
