Missouri AG: 45-Plus Biden Officials Targeted ‘God-Given Right’ of First Amendment

Missouri Attorney General Eric Schmitt on Fox News characterized nearly four dozen officials in the Biden administration as working against the First Amendment’s “fundamental, God-given right to express ourselves.”

“It’s important to take a step back and recognize that the First Amendment protects our fundamental, God-given right to express ourselves, right, to state an opinion, even if somebody doesn’t like it,” Schmitt said during an appearance Saturday on Fox News’s Unfiltered with Dan Bongino. “That’s what the First Amendment’s all about.”

Schmitt and Louisiana Attorney General Jeff Landry filed a lawsuit in May, which apparently uncovered what Schmitt calls a “vast censorship enterprise” between Big Tech and the federal government. Fox News reported that Schmitt and Landry can move ahead with depositions of Biden officials, including National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases Director Dr. Anthony Fauci, former White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki, and the FBI.

Senator-elect Schmitt appeared on Unfiltered Saturday to discuss the update to his lawsuit. “Here’s what we know so far,” Schmitt said. “First of all, during COVID, we know that high-ranking Facebook officials were text messaging the surgeon general of the United States saying, ‘Hey, we took that down, what more can we do?’ We also know that there was a special portal created for Big Tech with the government to take down people and, you know, have them deplatformed.”

Schmitt referred to Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg’s admission to podcast host Joe Rogan that Facebook suppressed the Hunter Biden laptop scandal after general pressure from the FBI, in an election-changing way. Schmitt told Bongino that at least one high-ranking FBI official communicated with Big Tech about censoring the scandal.

Big Tech and the federal government even had “weekly censorship meetings,” Schmitt told Bongino.

Schmitt and Landry cited original research from the Media Research Center and its groundbreaking CensorTrack database to support their states’ First Amendment lawsuit against the Biden administration.

“At least forty-five folks from the Biden administration were in constant communication with these social media platforms to censor and suppress speech,” Schmitt said on Sept. 8 on Fox Business’s Varney & Co. Schmitt added that President Joe Biden’s underlings in the White House “had weekly calls, censorship calls,” with tech company employees.

Furthermore, the Election Integrity Partnership (EIP), whose four organizational members received federal grants, worked with the federal government and Big Tech to censor online speech in 2020 and continued its biased activities before and during the 2022 midterm elections.

Conservatives are under attack. Contact your representatives and demand that Big Tech be held to account to mirror the First Amendment and provide transparency and an equal footing for conservatives. If you have been censored, contact us using CensorTrack’s contact form, and help us hold Big Tech accountable
